As seen in the opening scene the world can be a violent place. The movie repeatedly examines the fabric of human existence showing we are savage in nature. In the film Dicaprio seeks vengeance of his father, and shows how far we are willing to go to make a statement. The movie also deals with immigrants, examining how people are unwilling to accept change in the world. In the Dicaprio puts his fathers killier in the burial spot next to his father, saying are we all really so different. Scorcese is a genius in film and this movie should be praised.
