While it isn't really the sort to have hidden meanings, it does have a strong underlying message about perseverance, believing in yourself and following your dream. It also is about tolerance, I believe, though that is a minor background element. The movie is very childlike but in a good way, imo, with an innocent quality that is really quite charming. It's quite wacky and probably not for everyone.
